Full Description

Triethylenetetramine (TETA) is the workhorse aliphatic amine epoxy hardener — a tetraamine giving general-purpose ambient cure for adhesives, coatings and laminates. Identity: CAS 112-24-3.

What it is

Triethylenetetramine (CAS 112-24-3) is a liquid ethyleneamine with four nitrogen sites. It is one of the most widely used ambient-cure epoxy hardeners, balancing reactivity, cost and crosslink density.

How it cures

Its primary and secondary amine hydrogens ring-open epoxide groups to build a dense crosslinked network at room temperature. It gives good chemical resistance and mechanical strength; pot life and exotherm are managed by formulation and adducting.

Applications

TETA is used in ambient-cure epoxy adhesives, coatings, flooring, grouts and laminates. Compare lower-MW EDA and flexible polyetheramines.

Forms, grades and handling

TETA is supplied as a clear-to-amber liquid in drums, IBCs and bulk. Properties are typical reference values; the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for the lot you buy governs. Amine curing agents are typically corrosive and can sensitize skin — handle per the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Each lot ships with CoA, TDS and SDS.

Bulk supply and RFQ

RawSource sources Triethylenetetramine direct from producers in bulk, with CoA, TDS and SDS per lot. Tell us your resin system, cure schedule (ambient or heat) and the properties you need (pot life, Tg, flexibility, chemical resistance), and we will quote the right hardener. See selection logic in the epoxy curing agents guide.
