Ingredient Matching Across 29 Functional Roles and 10 Industries

RawSource is the raw-material source behind your formulation — not a formulation house and not a lab. You tell us what a material has to do, or hand us a sample to match, and we map that to specific raw materials, confirm who makes them, vet the source, and supply it in bulk. We hold no formulation and own no plant; being independent of any single producer is exactly what lets us match a requirement across suppliers and geographies.

We keep a structured catalog of 1,339 chemicals classified across 29 functional roles — biocidal action and chelation through film formation, thickening, solvency, and coupling. Each material carries industry tags, functional tags, CAS references, and available grades. Start from the role or the problem, not a product name: "a defoamer that survives 80 °C and high shear" reaches a shortlist faster than a trade name does.

What we add is the step after the answer. If you need bench formulation work or analytical deformulation, that is a lab's job, and we will tell you so. Where we earn our place is turning "this is the chemistry I need" into a vetted, documented, bulk-supplied material — one point of contact for the sourcing, and none of the single-supplier risk. You remain responsible for validating performance and regulatory compliance in your finished application.

How It Works

From Formulation Brief to Confirmed Raw Material

The process is built to reach a confirmed, specification-matched material order in the fewest steps possible.

1

Submit a Brief or a Sample

Describe the system: end-use, target pH and temperature range, the property you need, regulatory geography, existing BOM, and known constraints. Send a sample if you have one. Use the RFQ form or contact us directly.

2

Technical Review

We map your requirements against the catalog, identify primary and secondary candidates, and flag incompatibilities or regulatory restrictions for your target market.

3

Candidate Shortlist with Data Sheets

You get a shortlist of 2–5 candidate materials with CAS numbers, TDS, SDS, grade comparison, and sourcing origin. No pitch — just the technical data you need to decide.

4

Sample Arrangement (where applicable)

For novel applications or critical replacements, we coordinate samples from the source. Lead time and minimum quantities vary by origin and product class.

5

Bulk Supply & Ongoing Sourcing

Once the grade is confirmed, we move to bulk supply: packaging, logistics, and documentation to your facility's requirements, with repeat supply for validated materials.

NDA on Request

A mutual NDA is available before any brief is shared. Your proprietary BOM and development projects stay confidential.

Your Formulation Stays Yours

We identify and source raw materials. We claim no ownership of the formulations, applications, or intellectual property you develop.

Independent of Any Producer

We own no lab and no plant. Being independent of any single producer is what lets us match a requirement across suppliers and geographies.

Regulatory Geography Mapping

Candidate materials cross-checked against REACH, TSCA, and ECHA restrictions, plus industry certifications (COSMOS, NSF, Halal, Kosher) on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Formulation Support FAQ

Does RawSource formulate products?

No. We are the raw-material source behind your formulation. We help you find, match, and source the right materials in bulk; the formulation and the IP stay yours.

Can you match a competitor's or a discontinued product?

Often, yes. We help get the chemistry identified, then source an equivalent or a comparable grade you can buy in volume. Start with a second-source request or a reverse-engineering brief.

Do you own a lab or a plant?

No, and that is deliberate. Because we are independent of any single producer, we can match a requirement across suppliers and geographies instead of steering you to one line.

What do you need from me to start?

The functional role or the problem ("a chelant stable in bleach"), target specs, regulatory geography, and a sample if you have one. A functional brief beats a product name.

Is what I share confidential?

A mutual NDA is available before any brief is shared. Your BOM and development projects stay yours.

Formulation Support is advisory material-selection and sourcing guidance. Candidate materials, grades, and regulatory notes are provided for reference; suitability, performance, and regulatory compliance in your finished application remain the buyer's responsibility. Always consult the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling.
