Sodium Hexametaphosphate

Sodium Hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is a polyphosphate salt used as a sequestrant and dispersing agent. It is particularly effective at chelating metal ions, especially calcium and magnesium. SHMP is widely used in water treatment as a softener, in ceramics as a dispersant, and in food as a moisture binder. It is also known as Calgon and has applications in numerous industries.
