Full Description

N,N’-Bis(3-aminopropyl)ethylenediamine is a high-functionality aliphatic tetraamine hardener giving dense crosslinking and good chemical resistance in epoxy systems. Identity: CAS 10563-26-5.

What it is

N,N’-Bis(3-aminopropyl)ethylenediamine (CAS 10563-26-5) is a liquid tetraamine with four nitrogen sites and an extended backbone. It combines high functionality with a longer chain than the ethyleneamines.

How it cures

Its amine hydrogens ring-open epoxide groups for a densely crosslinked ambient cure with strong chemical resistance; the propyl spacers add a little flexibility versus ethyleneamines.

Applications

It is used in epoxy coatings, adhesives and chemically resistant systems, and as a chelant/surfactant building block. Compare TETA.

Forms, grades and handling

Supplied as a clear-to-amber liquid in drums, IBCs and bulk. Properties are typical reference values; the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for the lot you buy governs. Amine curing agents are typically corrosive and can sensitize skin — handle per the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Each lot ships with CoA, TDS and SDS.
