Formulations Support

Ingredient identification, functional-role mapping, and grade selection to help you find the right raw materials — sourced to your specification, not to a catalog.

Ingredient Matching Across 29 Functional Roles and 10 Industries

RawSource is not a formulations company. We are the raw material source behind your formulation. Our technical support function exists to reduce the time between "we need a thickener at pH 3" and a confirmed bulk purchase order for the right material at the right grade.

We maintain a structured catalog of 1,339 chemicals classified across 29 functional roles: from biocidal action and chelation through film formation, thickening, solvency, and coupling. Each material carries industry tags, functional tags, and cross-references to where it appears in the formulation process.

Formulations support engagements are technical conversations, not product pitches. You describe the system — pH range, temperature, substrate, regulatory geography, and existing bill of materials — and we map available raw materials to your open slots, flag known incompatibilities, and provide grade selection rationale with supporting data sheets. This is advisory material-selection guidance from published data and our catalog; you remain responsible for validating performance and regulatory compliance in your finished application.

Where a project calls for more than material selection — for example, working back from an existing product — we can bring in an outside specialist when one is available for the chemistry involved. We keep what we promise realistic: our core role is helping you identify and source the right raw materials, not replacing your formulation lab.

What We Support

Formulation Challenges

Common Problems We Help Resolve

Select your industry to see the formulation problems we encounter most frequently — and which raw material families provide the solution.

Ingredient by Role

29 Functional Roles → Raw Material Families

Find the right chemical class by what you need it to do in the formulation. Each role maps to product families in our catalog with available grades and CAS references.

How It Works

From Formulation Brief to Confirmed Raw Material

Our formulations support process is designed to reach a confirmed, specification-matched material order in the fewest steps possible.

1

Submit a Formulation Brief

Describe the system: end-use application, target pH and temperature range, desired functional properties, regulatory geography, existing BOM, and known constraints. Use the RFQ form or contact us directly.

2

Technical Review

Our team maps your requirements against the catalog. We identify primary candidates, secondary options, and flag potential incompatibilities or regulatory restrictions for your target market.

3

Candidate Shortlist with Data Sheets

We return a shortlist of 2–5 candidate materials with CAS numbers, TDS, SDS, grade comparison, and sourcing origin. No sales pitch — just the technical data you need to make the decision.

4

Sample Arrangement (where applicable)

For novel applications or critical replacements, we can coordinate laboratory samples from supplier. Lead time and minimum quantities vary by origin and product class.

5

Bulk Order & Ongoing Supply

Once grade selection is confirmed, we move to bulk procurement: packaging, logistics, and documentation coordinated per your facility requirements. Ongoing supply programs available for validated materials.

NDA Available

Mutual NDA signed before any formulation brief is shared. Your proprietary BOM and development projects stay confidential.

No Formulation Ownership

We identify raw materials — we do not claim ownership of formulations, applications, or intellectual property developed by our customers.

Prompt Initial Response

We turn around preliminary candidate identification as quickly as our team can once we have a complete formulation brief. More complex screening may take longer.

Regulatory Geography Mapping

Candidate materials cross-checked against REACH, TSCA, ECHA restrictions, and industry-specific certifications (COSMOS, NSF, Halal, Kosher) on request.
