Full Description
Formulators reach for this catalyst when a foam system needs an efficient amine that drives both the water-isocyanate (blow) and the isocyanate-polyol (gel) reactions. The three reactive nitrogen sites make it unusually active per unit weight, which is why it shows up in spray rigid insulation and molded flexible foam where a fast, complete cure matters. It is typically metered into the polyol side and is often used diluted to make precise dosing easier on the line. As with all tertiary-amine catalysts, handling is governed by its corrosivity and the need for good ventilation
