Full Description

Trimethylhexamethylenediamine (TMD) is a branched aliphatic diamine hardener (2,2,4-/2,4,4-isomer mixture) giving low color, low viscosity and good flexibility and weatherability in epoxy systems. Identity: CAS 25513-64-8.

What it is

Trimethylhexamethylenediamine (CAS 25513-64-8) is a liquid isomer-mixture diamine. The methyl branches lower crystallinity and viscosity and extend pot life, with low color.

How it cures

Its primary amines cure epoxy at ambient temperature to a flexible, low-color, weather-resistant network; the branched structure aids handling and toughness. It is also a building block for TMDI.

Applications

TMD is used in epoxy coatings and adhesives (low color, flexibility) and as a building block for TMDI. Compare MCDA.

Forms, grades and handling

TMD is supplied as a clear liquid in drums, IBCs and bulk. Properties are typical reference values; the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for the lot you buy governs. Amine curing agents are typically corrosive and can sensitize skin — handle per the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Each lot ships with CoA, TDS and SDS.

Bulk supply and RFQ

RawSource sources Trimethylhexamethylenediamine direct from producers in bulk, with CoA, TDS and SDS per lot. Tell us your resin system, cure schedule (ambient or heat) and the properties you need (pot life, Tg, flexibility, chemical resistance), and we will quote the right hardener. See selection logic in the epoxy curing agents guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is trimethylhexamethylenediamine (TMD) used for?

TMD (CAS 25513-64-8) is a branched aliphatic diamine epoxy hardener giving low color, low viscosity and flexibility, used in coatings and adhesives and as a building block for the diisocyanate TMDI.

How is bulk trimethylhexamethylenediamine supplied and quoted?

RawSource supplies trimethylhexamethylenediamine in bulk with CoA, TDS and SDS per lot. Pricing is quote-based on grade and volume; submit an RFQ with your resin system and cure schedule.

What is the REACH and TSCA regulatory status of Trimethylhexamethylenediamine (TMD)?

Trimethylhexamethylenediamine (TMD) (CAS 25513-64-8) is subject to U.S. TSCA Inventory requirements; supplying it into the EU requires valid REACH registration ((EC) No 1907/2006). RawSource cannot verify a third-party supplier's registrations — buyers should require documented TSCA and REACH compliance for their jurisdiction and volume (EC 247-063-2).
