Trimethylhexamethylenediamine (TMD)

CAS 25513-64-8

Trimethylhexamethylenediamine (TMD) is a liquid aliphatic diamine supplied as the commercial mixture of the 2,2,4- and 2,4,4-isomers. It is used primarily as a curing agent for epoxy resins and as a monomer building block for transparent (amorphous) polyamides and polyurethane systems

Full Description

As an epoxy curing agent, TMD delivers a long pot life with a clear, low-color cured film, making it well suited to castings, flooring, adhesives and protective coatings where handling time and optical clarity matter. The branched aliphatic backbone imparts a degree of flexibility and toughness to the cured network compared with shorter-chain diamines. Beyond epoxy curing, TMD serves as a diamine monomer in the production of amorphous, optically clear polyamides and as a chain extender in polyurethane and polyamide chemistry. RawSource supplies TMD in bulk for formulators and polymer producers working in coatings, composites and engineering-plastic intermediates
