HDI biuret polyisocyanate is a low-monomer aliphatic polyisocyanate resin formed from hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) via biuret linkages. It is used as the hardener (crosslinker) in two-component polyurethane coatings that demand weatherability and abrasion resistance
▸
Hardener/crosslinker for weatherable two-component (2K) polyurethane coatings
▸
Crosslinks hydroxyl acrylic and polyester resins into high-gloss, abrasion-resistant films
▸
Automotive-refinish, transportation and industrial-maintenance topcoats
▸
High-durability wood and protective coatings requiring UV stability

Full Description
HDI biuret resins crosslink hydroxyl-functional acrylic and polyester resins to form tough, high-gloss two-component (2K) polyurethane films with excellent UV and weathering durability — the aliphatic backbone is what keeps the cured coating from yellowing on outdoor exposure. They are widely specified in automotive refinish, transportation, industrial-maintenance and high-end wood coatings where gloss retention, chemical resistance and abrasion resistance are required. As a low-free-monomer resin, the biuret grade offers a different viscosity/reactivity balance than the isocyanurate trimer. RawSource supplies HDI biuret polyisocyanate in bulk to coating and CASE formulators
