Photoinitiator 907 (2-Methyl-4′-(methylthio)-2-morpholinopropiophenone)

CAS 71868-10-5

2-Methyl-1--2-morpholinopropan-1-one (MMMP) is a Type I alpha-aminoketone photoinitiator. Under UV exposure it cleaves to form radicals that start the polymerization of acrylate and other free-radical UV systems, and its absorption profile makes it especially effective at curing white and pigmented films from within

Full Description

MMMP is a workhorse initiator for pigmented UV coatings and inks, where a surface-only photoinitiator leaves the film soft underneath. It is widely used in white and colored screen inks, UV offset and flexo inks, pigmented coatings, solder masks and UV-curable plastics and adhesives. It is often paired with a sensitizer such as a thioxanthone to push absorption deeper into the near-UV and improve through-cure of thick or heavily pigmented layers. It is supplied as a solid for dissolution into the resin system and is used strictly as an industrial formulation additive
