Oligomeric Triazine HALS Light Stabilizer (High-Molecular-Weight)

CAS 106990-43-6

An oligomeric, very high molecular weight hindered amine light stabilizer built on a 1,3,5-triazine backbone with N-methylated (1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl) tetramethylpiperidine groups. The combination of high molecular weight and the lower basicity of the N-methyl chemistry delivers exceptional resistance to migration and strong performance in demanding long-term weathering applications

Full Description

It protects polymers by radical scavenging through the self-regenerating HALS mechanism rather than by absorbing UV, and its oligomeric triazine architecture provides among the longest service lives in the HALS class. The N-methyl (pentamethylpiperidine) substitution lowers basicity, which improves behavior in systems sensitive to acidic residues and reduces interaction with certain pigments and co-additives. Formulators use it to stabilize polyethylene, EVA, ABS, TPO and engineering thermoplastics – including thick sections, profiles and films – where minimal volatility and strong extraction resistance over prolonged outdoor exposure are essential, often alongside a UV absorber and antioxidant package
