True aromatic amines like MDA cure slowly, often need a heated post-cure to develop full properties, and raise serious health concerns: MDA is listed as a Substance of Very High Concern on the EU REACH Candidate List and is treated as a suspected carcinogen. MXDA is araliphatic, so it cures faster and carries a lower hazard profile while keeping much of the chemical resistance. Confirm regulatory status for your jurisdiction before specifying MDA.
Match the amine to the hazard you can manage. Where a plant can handle and post-cure a true aromatic amine, MDA gives maximum resistance for linings and grouts. Where handling controls or cure speed rule that out, MXDA is the practical specialty choice for chemical-resistant tank linings and pipe coatings.
