Genuine fit. Citric-acid injection is a standard drip/fertigation practice for this exact problem: it lowers water pH to hold bicarbonates/carbonates in solution (preventing CaCO3 precipitation at emitters) and chelates dissolved iron to stop iron-oxide plugging. Used for both preventive dosing and emitter/drip-tape cleaning, and preferred where growers want an organic acid over mineral acids.
